Additional COVID-19 Precautions

It is extremely important to us at desk chair Workspace to keep our members safe and our space clean. Coworking communities, as a service, thrive to allow professionals to have an area outside of their home or remote workplace to be productive as possible, and we want to be able to facilitate that need.

In order to help keep our facility functioning and safe, we have implemented some new changes to the building such as our new HVAC purifying system. While this may not be a feature we see on the day-to-day, it is extremely valuable to the health and well-being of our members and staff.

The pandemic has heightened all of our awareness surrounding health topics and daily activities that could put our health at risk.

Things we are doing:

  • Blue light surface disinfector
  • Hand sanitizer dispensers
  • Sneeze guards in hot desk area
  • Mandatory maks in common areas
  • Socially distanced Dedicated Desk area
  • Motion censored lights and sinks
  • Air purifying system in the HVAC system

“GPS’ technologies are meant for “POP” The three primaiy contributors to poor Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) are: Particulates Odor & Pathogens.

Particulates: During the GPS cleaning process, airborne particulates (dust, pet dander, pollen) are treated and theQ drawn together increasing their size and mass. Larger particulates are more easily captured effectively increasing the efficiency of a home’s air filters.

Odor & Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs ): During the GPS cleaning process, cooking odors, pet odors and chemical odors, (like formaldehyde) are broken down into basic compounds free of any smell.

"Health has always been, and will continue to be desk chair’s main priority throughout all COVID-19 regulations and beyond."

8 Ways to Boost Productivity at a Coworking Space

Coworking spaces offer opportunities for collaboration with other professionals, brainstorming outside your home or office and creating a lifestyle fit for your work ethic and determination. A new place brings new distractions and temptations to stray away from work.

What can you do to benefit the most from your time in a share  workspace? Follow desk chair™ Workspace's list of tips and tricks to boost productivity at a coworking space.

8 Ways to Boost Productivity at a Coworking Space

  1. Choose the Right Coworking Space - Choose a coworking space that checks off your requirements. Is there good lighting? Do I have access to outdoor workspaces? Is there coffee? (Possibly the most important question of all.) Before signing a lease, make sure you feel comfortable in the space. For information on desk chair™ memberships or to schedule a tour of the facility, click here.
  2. Wear Headphones, Even If You Are Not Listening to Music - People are constantly walking around, having small conversations, and coming and going as they please. These distractions are avoidable with headphones. Even if you are not listening to music, wearing headphones cuts down on the sounds around you, so you will less likely be bothered by others.
  3. Take Scheduled Breaks - When professionals around you know you take breaks at 10 a.m. and noon, the likelihood of them connecting with you during those times increases. It is important to connect with others at coworking spaces, just make sure you are not being bothered or taken away from your work.
  4. Turn Away from Distractions - Not seeing what is going on in your coworking space helps avoid distractions. Choose a desk far away from a conversation or simply turn your back to focus on your work.
  5. Clean and Tidy Workspace - There is nothing more stressful and unproductive than mounds of paper about to fall off your desk and an erupting trash can. A clean and tidy workspace creates an inviting place to work.
  6. When Busy, Avoid Impromptu Meetings - Unplanned, impromptu meetings can be a huge time-sucker and make your day get away from you. If you find yourself going down a path of no recovery, politely suggest a time where both of you can go over the conversation in more detail.
  7. Daily Schedule - When you get to work each morning, plan out your day, and make a list of work that needs to be accomplished. Marking off that last item at the end of the day motivates you to do the same thing all over again the next day.
  8.  Treat Yourself - Do not allow deadlines and workdays stress your body and health to the max. Treat yourself after a long day's work or after turning in a project you have been working on for weeks.
